Trump Bombs Iran’s Nuclear Sites
US President Donald Trump has confirmed targeted airstrikes on three of Iran’s major nuclear facilities: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The move marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Trump Bombs Iran’s Nuclear.
“This was by far the most difficult and perhaps most lethal mission,” Trump said in a televised address. He warned of further strikes if Iran doesn’t pursue peace.
Trump Bombs Iran’s Nuclear: The Deepest Strike Yet
Fordo is one of Iran’s most secretive uranium enrichment sites, buried deep within a mountainside. It’s believed to be beyond the reach of most weapons—except for the US GBU-57 “bunker buster,” a 30,000 lb bomb capable of penetrating nearly 80 meters underground.
Reports suggest the US deployed this powerful weapon to strike Fordo, though the actual damage remains unclear. Iran claims it had already evacuated sensitive materials from the facility.
Iran Threatens Retaliation
Iran has strongly condemned the US strikes and warned of possible retaliation against American military assets across the Middle East. It may also target the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments.
Military analysts believe Iran still retains enough capability to strike back, even after recent losses to Israeli attacks on its regional proxies in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza.
On the Ground: Heavy Security, Uncertain Impact
While Trump claims the nuclear sites were “completely obliterated,” military experts remain cautious. Iran’s state media insists the damage was minimal, thanks to pre-emptive evacuations.
Meanwhile, Israel has tightened nationwide security, halting public gatherings, schools, and office activities in response to the US offensive.
Can Trump Act Without Congress?
Under US law, only Congress can officially declare war. However, as commander-in-chief, the president can authorize military action without formal approval in urgent situations.
Trump previously used this authority to order airstrikes in Syria. Although lawmakers have pushed for a resolution to limit such powers, any vote could take weeks and is largely symbolic.
