Marjorie “Nonna” Grande, Ariana Grande’s Beloved Grandmother, has passed away at the age of 99. Ariana’s mother, Joan Grande, announced the news on Instagram. Ariana reposted the message to her 375 million followers.

“She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones,” the statement read. “Thank you for respecting our privacy.”

Nonna was more than family—she was part of Ariana’s artistic journey. In her latest album Eternal Sunshine, Nonna appears in the closing track Ordinary Things with heartfelt advice.

“Never go to bed without kissing goodnight,” she says. Ariana once explained that her grandmother’s wisdom gave the album emotional depth.

Nonna’s voice also appeared on earlier tracks like Daydreamin’ from Yours Truly and Bloodline from Thank U, Next.

A Source of Comfort and Pride

Ariana often spoke about her deep love for Nonna. At the 2025 Golden Globes, she called her right after hearing about her Wicked nomination.
